The ranger set comprises a buckle, two keepers, and a tip, each faced in black jet and studded with small silver pins set in a scattered field, framed by twisted silver wire borders. The buckle carries a vertical inlaid panel worked in turquoise, coral, and shell in a stepped geometric composition, the stones cut and fitted flush against the jet ground, and the tip repeats the motif at smaller scale. The set is mounted on a black lizard grain leather belt.
James Francisco is a Zuni silversmith working in the inlay tradition, and the piece is hallmarked on the reverse.
